JYOT
Children are 'new arrivals' to a world we have long become used to
They look around at everything with fresh eyes and often ask thought-provoking questions, helping us see reality in a new light and reminding that wisdom is not confined to age
The arrival of a child is the 'Spark of God', or Jyot (an Indic term), that guides our heart and mind to live by virtue such as compassion, integrity, contentment, humility and love; often, taking us by surprise, showing remarkable empathy, forgiveness and generosity
During our formative years, from the time spent in the womb to our early interactions in daily family life, the environments we experience play a strong role in nourishing qualities of Jyot. Spiritual qualities can also be sparked in us through the company we keep
So what does this work communicate?
That childhood brings us fresh perspectives and the fragrance of innate goodness which rests inside everyone. In this way, the presence of children is a gift to us all!
